Callataÿ & Wouters’ (C&W) Thaler core banking system has finally gained a first taker in the CIS region – Kazakhstan-based Eurasian Bank. The deal comes nearly two years after signing a partnership with a Russian vendor, R-Style Softlab, to market a joint offering to the banks in Russia and neighbouring states (IBS, September 2007). Thaler will support the Eurasian Bank’s retail activity across 18 branches and 40+ offices, and will replace some of R-Style’s modules, which perform poorly, particularly in the lending area, says Larisa Kolesnichenko, the bank’s acting director.
